Introducing Agustinus Zandy

“Many interesting things are
happening at the EERC,” Zandy said. “The sky is the limit, which means we can
learn a lot of things here, and we can also be innovative in presenting new
ideas or inventing something new to meet project goals. Energy technologies are
some of the most advanced technologies in the world. We always have an
opportunity to invent something new or modify something to be applicable in a
specific area. To achieve it, you need to work as a team, brainstorm the idea
with others, perfect it, and implement it. Working in energy research is the
best place to experience all those phases.”
Zandy's professional interests and
expertise include well completion design, production simulation, artificial
lift design (gas lift and electric submersible pump), and well-testing operations.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Bandung Institute of
Technology, Indonesia, and an M.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the
University of North Dakota. His prior work experience includes serving as a
Senior Petroleum Engineer at Tiarabumi Petroleum and Medco E&P, Jakarta,
Indonesia.
When he’s not at work or
in the field, Zandy’s hobbies are swimming, playing badminton, and chess. He is
also learning about photography and finds himself “taking pictures of
everything” with his cell phone or a camera.
Of his home country, Zandy
said, “Indonesia is a beautiful country in the middle of the equator. If you
love the summer season, I recommend that you visit Indonesia, because it is
summer the entire year round.”
